Let’s rewind and go back to one of the best parts of 1996, back to director Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. This film captures all the elements of what a wedding should entail.
First and foremost, there’s passion. Leo’s Romeo just can’t keep his eyes and hands off of his one true love, Ms. Dane’s Juliet. Think about it, the stolen glances, the secret hand-holding, that infamous love-at-first-sight aquarium scene…the perfect recipe for passion.
Secondly, that soundtrack. I MEAN, REALLY!?! It’s still so good. Like so good you could play this album at your actual wedding and it’d cover all your music bases.
Finally, it’s intimate. Whether your families are sworn enemies or just overbearing do-gooders, this is proof that the shared intimacy between you and your partner will hopefully supersede any nuances that come with wedding planing and family gatherings. And if that doesn’t work, you can always get a bad-ass “sword” engraved pistol…
Pinning around in the Love Bird Invites MODERN GEOMETRIC INSPIRATION BOARD as of late. I love this theme for a Springtime celebration! So hip, so colorful, and so fun. It’s official – geometric is the new black.
STATUS UPDATE! I’m happy to announce that our first bridal expo went off without a hitch! There was a lot to get done in the weeks leading up to the event, but I can honestly say it was all well worth it. I created and printed off posters, designed multiple sizes of business cards, thrifted frames and easels, and printed off my newly designed wedding invitation templates. Looking back, the prep work for the expo was actually a great deal of fun and I remembered just how much I love the power of spray paint! Case in point:
Before: Plain Ole Thrifted Frames
After: Magically Kissed Fairy Gold Frames 🙂
The strokes of the spray can became pretty enchanting (or maybe it was just the flumes?) and I soon found myself on some next level sh*t by spray painting all four sides of my newly printed business cards.
I love the way the cards look stacked up in piles. I can’t decide if I like the contrast with the dark background or the light one…either way, I was pretty pumped to hand these out!
Lastly, below are a few pics of the booth that I managed to snap right before the expo began. I was going for a lot of color, and as you can see, there was a color explosion on my table. Bright and right, though…
Love Bird Invites is excited to announce that we’ll be making our business debut at the Tanoan Country Club Spring Bridal Fair this coming Sunday, March 2nd, 2014 from 1-5pm! We’ll be showcasing a handful of our previous custom wedding invitations, plus we’ll be introducing a good number of new pre-made invite designs that we’ve cooked up just for the event.
In honor of gearing up for the bridal show, below you will find some of my favorite jams that help me stay motivated through the preparation and long hours I’ve been puttin’ in these past couple of weeks. Other than that, I’m super excited to be apart of the show and can’t wait to meet some new brides!
Spring is almost here and love is in the air!
